Why Color Matters More Than You Think

You are going to look at this laptop every day for the next 3-5 years. The color you choose affects how you feel about it, how it looks on your desk, and whether it matches your other gear. Apple knows this — it is why the Neo comes in four genuinely distinct options instead of the usual Silver-and-one-dark-color offering.

Blush and Citrus are Apple's boldest laptop colors since the 1999 iBook G3 came in tangerine and blueberry. Indigo is the spiritual successor to Midnight without the fingerprint nightmare. And Silver is Silver — you know exactly what you are getting, and that is perfectly fine.

A Note on Fingerprints

Every MacBook shows fingerprints. It is aluminum — oil from your hands is visible on any metal surface. But the visibility varies dramatically by color. Indigo hides fingerprints best because the dark surface absorbs light rather than reflecting oily smudges. Silver is second-best. Citrus is moderate. And Blush, being the lightest warm tone, shows fingerprints the most. If this bothers you, either pick Indigo or invest in a microfiber cloth and a sleeve.
