Editorial Standards
Last reviewed: April 2026 · Written by Sungyu Kim
This is the rulebook OnVerdict runs on. It's public because the only way to hold a publication accountable is to write down what it promises and let readers check.
Independence
- No article on this site has ever been paid for by a manufacturer, retailer, or PR agency, and none ever will be.
- We do not accept review units in exchange for favorable coverage. If a manufacturer sends unsolicited hardware, it is either returned, donated, or disclosed explicitly in the article.
- No manufacturer, retailer, or PR agency reviews an article before publication. Articles are published independently, edited only by OnVerdict staff.
- OnVerdict has no parent company, no investor, and no editorial partner. It is owned and operated by Sungyu Kim.
Affiliate Relationships (Fully Disclosed)
-
OnVerdict participates in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program
under the tag
onverdict20-20. When you buy through an Amazon link on this site, OnVerdict earns a small commission at no extra cost to you. -
Every affiliate link is labeled
(paid link)inline — never hidden, never cloaked, never redirected through a URL shortener. - The commission rate does not vary by product, which means OnVerdict has no financial incentive to recommend a more expensive option over a cheaper one.
- OnVerdict also displays Google AdSense ads. These are automatically served based on page content and are not negotiated with individual advertisers.
Accuracy and Sourcing
- Prices and spec figures cite the manufacturer's official product page, a named retailer, or a linked published benchmark.
- Performance claims cite a benchmark (Geekbench, Cinebench, Blender, or our own workload script) when the number is quantitative.
- When a claim is subjective ("the screen feels brighter," "typing feels better"), it is framed as an opinion and tied to the tester's direct experience.
- We do not republish manufacturer marketing claims ("all-day battery," "professional-grade performance") without independent verification.
Corrections
- Factual errors are corrected in public. We do not silently edit articles. When a correction is made, a dated "Correction:" note is appended to the bottom of the article naming what was wrong.
- If a correction materially changes the recommendation, a notice is also placed at the top of the article.
- Readers can submit corrections to [email protected]. Every email is read, and verified corrections are typically published within 48 hours.
AI Use
- No article on OnVerdict is generated end-to-end by AI.
- AI tools are used for draft outlining, spell-checking, and occasional paragraph rewrites.
- Every word of published body copy is read and edited by a human before publication.
- If any article ever feels like AI slop — vague, hedged, suspiciously symmetric — readers are invited to email us and have it rewritten.
Privacy and Reader Data
- OnVerdict does not require account registration to read articles.
- Analytics use Cloudflare Web Analytics (no cookies, no IP fingerprinting) and Google Search Console.
- Google AdSense may set cookies for ad personalization, governed by Google's privacy policy.
